Godstime Nwaeze

As an undergraduate, I served as the Chief of Judge of Law Students Association, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where I presided over court sessions and led a few innovations. I participated in over 20 writing and speaking competitions, including the John Hm Jackson Moot Court Competition in Kenya 2024. In 2023, I finished second place in the DealHQ Law Undergraduate Essay Writing Competition. In the same year, I was part of the team that represented my school in the National Tax Debate, where we finished fourth. My entry also won 3rd place in the Nigerian Content Development Monitoring Board national essay writing competition in 2021. In 2020, I was shortlisted for the Wole Soyinka International Cultural Exchange Essay Writing Competition from 28 countries across the world. I am a creative writer, and my works have appeared in The Muse, Braided Way, Praxis Magazine, The Kalahari Review, among others. In 2021, my poem 'The Way to God' was nominated for The Best of the Net. In 2020, my poem 'Bermuda Triangle' won the #EndSARS poetry competition organized by the Society of Young Nigerian Writers in conjunction with the International Human Rights Arts Festival. I am a researcher and have published numerous articles mostly on climate change and environmental sustainability. I have coached 100s of students on writing, some of whom have gone on to win national laurels. I graduated as the best male student from a class of over 280, where I was also a course representative in an elective course. I led the most heated election campaign in the faculty and which produced the most-performing president in recent history. Presently, I am undergoing the one-year vocational training at the Nigerian Law School to qualify for call to the Nigerian Bar as a Barrister and Solicitor.
