OMONIYI Gift Opeyemi

I am a driven and purpose-oriented individual with a strong passion for engineering, innovation, and community development. My academic journey at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) has been marked by an active involvement in leadership roles and projects aimed at driving a positive change. I served as the Vice President of the Nigerian Institution of Civil Engineers - Students Affiliate, FUTA Chapter during the 2020/2021 academic session. During my tenure, I contributed to the planning and execution of academic and professional development programs for civil engineering students. I was also privileged to serve again as Vice President, this time for the Nigerian Universities Engineering Students' Association (NUESA), FUTA Chapter for the 2022/2023 session. I helped in coordinating interdisciplinary events, represented student interests in various academic discussions, and encouraged active student participation in engineering-related programs. In my final year, I was privileged to serve and take up a more academic focused role as the Academic Coordinator and Chairman of the Academic Counseling Team of the Redeemed Christian Fellowship (RCF), FUTA. My team and I provided structured academic support and mentoring to students, helping them achieve academic success through personalized counseling and resource-sharing. Beyond school-based leadership, I was also selected as a member of the Millennium Fellowship (Class of 2023), a prestigious global leadership program by the Millennium Campus Network and United Nations Academic Impact. As a fellow and Emerging Technologist, I worked on a community project titled Clean-Up Environs, aimed at promoting clean water and sanitation (SDG 6). This experience deepened my commitment to sustainability and reinforced the value of local action for global impact. These leadership roles have collectively equipped me with strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, and have shaped me into a proactive team player committed to making a difference.
