Wasiu Adesina

My name is Wasiu Adesina Kayode. I am a recent first-class graduate of accounting at the University of Lagos, Akoka, Lagos State, Nigeria. I am a certified associate accounting technician from the Association of Accounting Technicians West Africa(AATWA), and I look forward to becoming a qualified member of the institute Chartered Accountant of Nigeria (ICAN) by the end of the fall, this year. I am also a certified financial modeling and valuation analyst and a financial planning and wealth manager, both accredited by the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI) Inc. My career goal is to become a successful quant trader working at a global financial institution and contributing to the development of a more efficient and inclusive financial system through my passion for data, markets and analytical thinking. During my academic journey, I held several leadership roles both within and outside my institution. In my sophomore year, I served as Director of Studies for the Faculty of Business Administration Muslim Students Association, where I collaborated with stakeholders to enhance academic success for first- and second-year students. At the same time, I was the Financial Secretary of the Impact Leaders Club, UNILAG Chapter, where I prepared budget proposals, attracted sponsors and handled core accounting tasks. In my final year, I served as General Secretary of my departmental association and Assistant Secretary-General of the Nigerian Universities Accounting Students Association (National Body). When I am not engaged in the activities that deepen my knowledge about corporate finance, data or the financial markets, you will either find me working on other programmes I am committed to, enjoying intriguing movies or engaging in any form of mental exercises. At the moment, I am fully immersed in the Mckinsey Forward Program trying to deepen my understanding of problem solving and analysis.
