Throughout my stay in veterinary school, I have held over ten leadership positions across student associations, advocacy campaigns, and international networks, where I consistently drove results, fostered collaboration, and amplified youth engagement in global health issues. As President of the International Veterinary Students’ Association (IVSA FUNAAB) and President of the Antimicrobial Resistance Club FUNAAB waiting to hand over soon, I currently lead cross-functional teams to implement antimicrobial resistance (AMR) awareness programs, engage policymakers, and promote One Health principles, I have spearheaded several public health and one health initiatives including sensitization of over 10,000 students, farmers, health care workers and religious worshippers. I have also carried out laboratory research on Antimicrobial equipping me with both the scientific rigour and cross sectoral perspective essential to this role. Under my command, these organizations have hosted high-impact campus sensitization programs,campaigns and fostered partnerships with global health bodies like WHO and IVSA ScoVE. Previously, I have served as Team Lead for the IVSA Nigeria Congress 2024 Local Organizing Committee, where I successfully coordinated the Secretariat, managing over 150 delegates from twelve veterinary schools across Nigeria and ensuring seamless conference logistics. I also spearheaded the IVSA FUNAAB Tuberculosis Awareness Program, reaching over 500 community members through structured abattoir visits, risk assessments, and multilingual stakeholder engagement. In editorial leadership, I served as Editor-in-Chief and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of two major veterinary student associations (IVSA FUNAAB and AVMS), where I improved content quality and initiated student-led newsletters to enhance academic and policy discourse.I was able to publish an article titled “Loss of Seniority in Veterinary school:Restoring the lost glory “ which really trended and resonated among students, lecturers and officials of the University My tenure as General Secretary of NAMVMS and Senator in the Student Representative Assembly FUNAAB enabled me to bridge student concerns with institutional governance, championing policy reforms and increasing student participation in academic planning. Internationally, I represented youth as a UN Millennium Fellow and WASH OFF AMR Campaign Ambassador, collaborating with global partners to localize AMR interventions. I led awareness programs, co-authored campaign reports, and achieved a 90% participant satisfaction rate in WHO-aligned youth mobilization efforts. These experiences reflect my commitment to servant leadership, health advocacy, and youth empowerment, with measurable impact in awareness reach, organizational growth, and academic excellence.
